Woomelang / Lascelles
The Woomelang Landcare Group developed as an extension of successful Rabbit Action Groups in the local area. The group decided to become a Landcare group in 1995, as there were successful groups operating in the area and they felt Woomelang was missing out by not having a Landcare group. The Lascelles Landcare Group formed in October 2001 also because landholders could see the success of other groups in the area. The group formed with its main environmental concern being rabbits and with the intent of undertaking projects including weed containment, salinity discharge control and tree planting. The two groups combined in 2005 and held their first AGM as the Woomelang / Lascelles Landcare Group on 5th October 2006. The group currently have a strong membership list, incorporating approximately twenty-four families.
